  1. I suggest you use the online Emulator FIRST (can be skipped if desired.) Try out the emulator online here - https://www.commanderx16.com/emulator/x16emu.html It’s quick and easy and gets you playing with the prototype system with a single click. Go ahead and type in: 10 PRINT “THE X16 WILL RULE THE WORLD!”; 20 GOTO 10 RUN If you want to try out some of the great software for the X16 that has been developed, browse the downloads https://www.commanderx16.com/forum/index.php?/files/, select a program and then click on the “Try it now” button. I mention the above since it will work on your MAC with little fuss and no significant effort on your part. It may leave you content, or firm up your enthusiasm to get the emulator installed and working on your machine. See the next item below for the detailed install notes.
  2. Has anyone managed to compile the emulator on windows? If so do you want to share roughly how it was accomplished? There are a few issues that I can see; Setup of an environment to compile it. (Use VS or VSC?) And other prerequisites (libraries - mwing?) Setup X16 specific bits like the ROMs. Locate and change all directory specific code. (I see a few hard coded paths) Actually build it. (nmake, cl.exe??) Anything else? Is there a resource out there that can help? Couldn't find anything here or in the project's github.
  3. I've mostly been ignoring this, but I get a black area at the bottom of the emulator whenever I set the screen mode to 320x200@256C. Everything runs fine, as if the black area is simply not part of the screen. However, when I look at other people's demos, I never see this black area. I'm starting to worry it will be there on the actual hardware and not just the emulator. When I have an application that only runs this code: lda #$80 sec jsr screen_set_mode Here is what I see: Is this expected for some reason, or am I doing something wrong?
  4. If I create a basic program and save it to the SD card it saves fine the first time. If I make modifications and attempt to save again to the same name it acts like it does it , but it does not actually overwrite my old file. Am I doing something wrong? Am I missing a parameter?
