AndyMt
I wonder what this means for the X16 project. Is this change related?
Scott Robison
I don't think so. It doesn't change the availability of VERA for the CX16, just allows more people to play with it. The supply chain issues haven't changed.
Mtemal
@Scott Robison It's pretty cool that @Frank van den Hoef decided to release the vera-module under the MIT license. As for production of the X16/X8.. I think it's stalled until world events stabilize. The ICE40UP5k is still unobtainium with mouser showing ship dates in September of 2022. 6,804 Expected 9/6/2022 14,000 Expected 9/12/2022
TheRogerV
Well, given that the X8 uses USB keyboard and controllers, it's conceivable that it could mated to the keyboard and joystick of TheC64 Maxi, which are USB-based. Then could have something that looks like a Commodore 64 but the guts and brain are actually an X8. 1
Travis Bryant moore
The retro FPGA is just going to half to do as I doubt you could get something with the world going crazy. Besides it just needs to be as good as what the snes computer?
