How to display sprites?

Question

Hello people,

I have been doing some trial&error lately on how to get the Commander X16 into graphics mode and displaying sprites.
Currently, my code is this and it outputs this. I use the ACME Cross Compiler if thats any special. I have tried to find it out myself by looking at the documentation but i haven't been able to make it work.
I have also tried looking at the source code of other games but most of the games with sprites are made in BASIC (I want to make it in Assembly) or aren't open source.
I have also searched online and searched on this forum but could not find anything regarding displaying sprites in assembly

Thanks Stephen, sorry for not searching first.

@Hugo4IT: myself is discovering how it all works too. For now I've only discovered how the bitmap graphics modes of the Vera work. I don't have a clue yet about tiles or sprites.  This page is helpful although very concise https://github.com/commanderx16/x16-docs/blob/master/VERA Programmer's Reference.md

 I remember starting out with VERA a long, long time ago (= more than a year). I tried to figure out what concepts like tiles and layers even meant. In those days there were no tutorials by Dusan, very few programs with source code to study, but luckily I had great help of Stephen’s legendary, unofficial documentation. This is the true story of how the West was won, or maybe not, but definitely a story of how a new interest in assembly programming was found. [emoji4]
