What ROM chips are the prototype using?

Question

The EEPROM chips I've used in the past with the 65C02 (the AT28HC256) have an access time of 150ns, which is too long to be usable at 8MHz. I've found pin compatible versions of this chip with faster access times, but they are surprisingly expensive. I was wondering which chips the X16 team is using to get over this hurdle. Maybe it isn't using an EEPROM at all since the ROM doesn't need to be changed often?
