Re: AUTOBOOT SOUND ON STARTUP.

That's a nice idea.

It would have been nice if the sound could play in the background so the ready prompt does not have to wait for the sound to finish before showing.
Also, why is the text color changed to yellow?

That is correct.
It works with Super Mario Brothers because I am able to map the ATARI UP to the SNES B while having the trigger/action map to Y

Re: Atari2SNES

I have actually just redesigned the PCB to make it a lot smaller. I was thinking about adding PCB mounted plugs for both the DB9 and the SNES controller. The issue is that if I add normal PCB mounted SNES connectors, I would need a cable with the same type of plug in both ends and I can not find tha...

Atari2SNES

I have never really gotten used to these modern SNES controllers so I created an Atari to SNES adapter.

Now muscle memory helps me out when playing all those cool games on the Commander X16.

Re: C64 Emulation

I do not think it will be possible to emulate the C64 on the CX16. I have written an article about converting a very simple program from the C64 to CX16.

If you want to play around with C64, I suggest VICE

Re: 3 brothers

Thanks Jimmy! Hopefully they'll do another revision of the Otter that doesn't need a bodge but then again, I have no idea what I could use the cartridge slot for? There probably isn't much available in the way of X16 expansions yet are there? There are no cartridges or cards readily available yet, ...

This is how I created an SDcard image on linux: dd if=/dev/zero of=sdcard.img bs=1024k count=1 seek=33 # I have not manged to create image less than 34MB, then mkfs won't format as FAT32 sudo fdisk sdcard.img # In fdisk # o ; for new partition table n ; for new partition p ; for primary partition [e...

Re: Dos Shell

I just tried extracting the zip file to a FAT32 formatted SD card and when it is run from there, things are working just fine.
It seems that the issues turn up if shell.prg is run from hostfs (at least on Linux and most likely on MAC as well)

I am not sure if there is an easy fix for this?

Re: 3 brothers

You can read more about the bodge here:

I am currently running my OtterX without the bodge.
