Re: New board. sound VERY distorted..
Just a follow up… Got in touch with TexElec and send them a sample of what I was hearing. They sent me out a replacement DAC and Yamaha sound chip. Turns out it was the DAC that was bad. They said I’m like the 3rd they’ve had this issue with. To be expected when we are dealing with 30-40 yr old chip...

Re: New board. sound VERY distorted..
It sounds to me like the MIDI files are playing through the FM chip, and either the FM chip, the DAC, or the pre-amp for the DAC is not working. The one thing that's easy to test is the power supply. The FM audio circuit relies on negative voltage from the power supply, so if you have a multimeter,...

Re: New board. sound VERY distorted..
Ok, MooingLemur helped me figure out how to set things up in Melodius (and pointed me to the latest version), so I have the MIDI card working now... THAT is nice and clean... Anything playing VERA PSG is also nice and clean sounding. But OMG the YAMAHA is just distortion city. Is it possible I have ...

New board. sound VERY distorted..
Hey all... Board# PR01146 has arrived in Cherry Hill, NJ. Got it all set up. Installed the 2nd CIA, buffered, extra RAM. Put in the Midi card+wavetable, and the network card. Started running through stuff on the SD card (after backing it all up). So, first issue - tried playing music through Melodiu...

Re: Snes controller problem.
Has anybody found ones on Amazon that actually work 100%? I stopped by my local Gamestop store, asked the girl at the counter if they had any SNES controllers... She looked at me like I was an alien then asked "Is that something for the Wii???" :?:   I never felt so old.... Sh...

No DrawTriangle?
Looking at the R48 Developers' Guide, I see there's a DrawRect, DrawOval, and DrawLine. I notice there's no DrawTriangle which would be very useful for 3D graphics (particularly filled) Any chance we could ever get that? While I could certainly draw the triangles with 3 line draws, it then would be ...

Re: Hey there, just ordered...
Yay my setup is shipping out (just got the tracking number). Now let's see if USPS can manage to get it here 1) safely and 2) without taking the most circuitous route humanly possible...

Re: FAQ Update for Gen-2 aka "CX16GS" system
While I can certainly appreciate the added simplicity of a flat memory model, I have to wonder what the heck anybody is planning to do with 16MB (or 32!) of RAM on this thing! That’s more than I have in any of my fairly well decked out Amigas! I find it hard to believe that anyone will use that muc...
