Re: notes for CX16 music/SFX creation.
Here's some very well-established differences of OPNx and OPM/P/Z chips, but no one's (on English web that is) talking about. See OPNA OPM application manual for details. And IKAOPM IKAOPN for Verilog codes of what's up internally. if I typed PMD/AMD, I mean PMS AMS, don't know where I picked the PM...

Re: notes for CX16 music/SFX creation.
OPNx 2 OPM/P LFO speed convertion. There's three bits on OPNx chips, ranging a speed from 3.98hz to 72.2hz phiM@8mhz. But on OPM, there's 8 bits controlling the speed, ranging from 0.0008hz to 57.4127hz(?) if you can read the YM2151's app manual..... if you can't, here's the code for calculating it....

Re: notes for CX16 music/SFX creation.
The YM2151 test regster details:
Note, on OPP, the LFO rest bit is swaped to 9h.
And timmer B resolution is period doubled: 2048 clock cycles on OPP vs. 1024 on OPM
Leaving 8 more undocumented regsters.

Re: A plea to the dev team
:D here's a spicy. consider it a bliss that it's evolving. Sound system got multiple major -bug- features that still got push backs, with priority level as low as. Not a complaint, an observation this is. I fully understand the where would it ends fear. The fear of eternity, how natural. but it'll c...

Re: Arithmetic Backbone(VERA)
As to why filter would do this, think of it as capacitor charge and discharge. In square wave, think only the vertical lines which they have a name that don't remember right now I remembered now it's called rising and falling edges are the only times the chip would output current, other times it's s...

Re: Arithmetic Backbone(VERA)
kay, I've enlightened by the wisdoms in furnace discord.
The buffs also believe it's the filtering.

Re: Arithmetic Backbone(VERA)
I noticed that the displayed square waves were a bit distorted, as if they were trying to morph into a triangle wave. Is this intentional or an inaccuracy of the player? I think that's ac cupping and the lc-sinc filter in the furnace's doing. but as you can see, it's canceled out by the speaker's p...
