the .xm uses only sine wave to make the whole song by chopping parts of the sine wave effetely making Abs.Sinewave which is very close to the filtered Sawtooth. And of course, sine wave itsefl.
If were on OPL3, Abs.Sinewave is just there to get, on OPM YM2151, this requires additional effort to get a wave close to the Abs.Sinewave.
VERA PSG however, Triangle wave is close to the sine wave natively FFT wise. And Saw is Sawtooth.
