What PC case are you using?

I am tempted to buy something like this but I’m unsure if it will be too tight a fit. I like the handle and 60 isn’t too bad

I got one of these, just as temporary for now. As an mATX, it is not a tight fit for the X16 board. But keep in mind for that price, it doesn't come with any fans or power supply - not that you need those here, but it makes less of a good deal.

Attached is a photo to give an idea of the space. One nice thing is I plug pins into the up-front USB port to draw 5V right off the X16 board (5V clearly marked near the FP and I2C group of pins). So that 5V can charge a phone or some IEC disk drive emulator, etc. Note there is no switch upfront for RESET or drive activity light - that hasn't really been a big deal, with the side glass window I can see the onboard activity LED just fine, and CTRL+ALT+DEL from the keyboard does a reset reliably enough.

The "fine grill" stuff that comes with that case is just "sticker on" (not magnetic, or at least I don't think it is) so I didn't use it. That left space to pass the SD extender thru.

With the holes top and bottom, it might be easier to cut out a space for a side-insert cartridge someday.

I found a really nice low profile MicroATX case that uses a FlexATX power supply.
It's a SilverStone MILO 11. I would have preferred a white case but this will do.
I found it on Amazon & Newegg for around $75 without the power supply.

It's nice and compact measuring 33cm wide x 11cm tall x 28.5cm deep.

I did have to remove the two USB 3 connectors(they were easy to unscrew) as the cables were really bulky. It does leave small empty holes in the front but it's minimal.
Instead of the Flex ATX power supply, I'm going to just keep using the power brick that came with the Commander X16, and place a plate over the power supply hole and mount the connector to that.

The only thing it needs is an IO shield for the back, (does anyone make them?)
and a large Command x16 branding case back to cover the Silverstone logo. (does anyone make those?)

The Checkmate A1500 Plus case was mentioned in this thread, so since that is what I decided to get here is how it looks like!

The ATX screw holes were a bit off, had to keep the screws loose before having all of them in place, and only once had all of them in place I could screw all of them in.

Getting the top lid back on was also a bit of an experimentation effort. Though once it is in place everything is fine!

So far I haven't had the interest for all the rest of the chips, but maybe I could order them to have the option to avoid any regrets in future
